“La Ville En Mouv’ment’’ les Arts dans la Rue aka "The City On the Move" Arts in the Street was a festival in the streets and market of Ouakam, Senegal. We combined dance and performance with provincial rituals and our unconventional approach to site-responsive art and radical tenderness. During the performance we were with the community, in and around their homes. We sang to them, gave them charms, told stories, and joined them in their daily activities as we processed through the streets. Our performance kicked off the evenings events and the works continued into the night, drawing spectators from their homes and onto the street.

As a part of ‘’La Ville En Mouv’ment’’ les Arts dans la Rue we also performed in Palmarin, Senegal at the Palm Festival organized by Bigué Ndiaye in collaboration with Fatou Cissé. This performance will build on our previous performance in Ouakam. It will feature site-responsive performances and installations created in collaboration with Senegal-based artists. The performance will be a procession through the village of Palmarin.

We are excited to return to Senegal and do it all again.

"La Ville En Mouv'ment" les Arts dans la Rue alias "La Ville en Mouvement" Arts dans la Rue était un festival dans les rues et le marché de Ouakam, au Sénégal. Nous avons combiné la danse et la performance avec des rituels provinciaux et notre approche non conventionnelle de l'art sensible au site et de la tendresse radicale. Pendant le spectacle, nous étions avec la communauté, dans et autour de leurs maisons. Nous leur avons chanté, leur avons donné des charmes, raconté des histoires et les avons rejoints dans leurs activités quotidiennes alors que nous parcourions les rues. Notre performance a donné le coup d'envoi des soirées et les travaux se sont poursuivis dans la nuit, attirant les spectateurs hors de chez eux et dans la rue.

Dans le cadre de ‘’La Ville En Mouv’ment’’ les Arts dans la Rue nous nous sommes également produits à Palmarin au Sénégal lors du Festival de la Palme organisé par Bigué Ndiaye en collaboration avec Fatou Cissé. Cette performance s'appuiera sur notre précédente performance à Ouakam. Il présentera des performances et des installations adaptées au site créées en collaboration avec des artistes sénégalais. Le spectacle sera une procession à travers le village de Palmarin.

Nous sommes ravis de retourner au Sénégal et de tout recommencer.
